The Fountain of Soda

Feb 02
I woke up this morning to the news that space shuttle Columbia had been destroyed. Well, that sucks.

Back on schedule, I walked to CKS this morning. It was busier than any morning yet. The Japanese tourists were back, but it seemed to be mostly groups of Chinese tourists today.

The weather has been getting steadily nastier. It couldn't have been nicer yesterday morning, but the temperature dropped 15-20 degrees just afternoon. It continued to be cold and rainy all day today, getting colder still as the day wore on.

Not much else happened today. I finished up writing these journals. We ate lunch and dinner.

In the evening we went out with Johnny, his friend Little Monkey and his girlfriend and set off some firecrackers, all the while keeping an eye out for the police, who are no longer turning a blind eye to firecrackers.

I desperately needed a fountain drink. The only cups in the house are coffee cups size and smaller and there's no ice. (And I wouldn't trust it if there were, since you have to boil water before drinking it.)

The only place to get a large drink with ice is at a fast food restaurant, so the last thing we did was head to McDonald's for a soda. They closed early and I didn't get one.
